Representative
Steven Sainz
The Republican with Results
Camden County’s fighter in the State House. Serving all of Camden and a portion of south Glynn.
Runoff Election: June 18
I believe our government should be made up of citizen legislators, not career politicians. As your state representative, I care about your concerns and work diligently as your voice in Atlanta. This is not a political career for me, it is a personal way of giving back to a community I have been blessed to be a part of since childhood.
As a coastal conservative, small government champion, former deputy sheriff, and small business executive, I know we do best when we have the personal freedom to live as we see fit – not as the government dictates.
We have had some tough times lately as our community grapples with the failed economic and security policies of the Biden presidency, yet I still believe America is the best place in the world, and Georgia’s 180th district is the best of the best! I’m willing to work hard to keep it this way, and I hope you’ll continue to join me.

on The Issues
Representative Steven Sainz is deeply committed to the values of House District 180, prioritizing safe communities, family prosperity, student success, and funding for our district. He ardently supports conservative policies, including boosting the local economy, backing law enforcement and first responders, and safeguarding Constitutional rights. His transparent and accountable approach to governance builds trust and connection with constituents.
Steven has a simple legislative agenda going into 2025: make Georgia the safest place to live, work, and raise a family. This includes making sure the state does its part in recruiting and retaining local law enforcement, who enforce the majority of our state statute. Steven has worked with the House Study Committee on State & Local Law Enforcement Salaries to look at the possibility of a statewide law enforcement retirement plan. This will be a major legislative item for Steven’s office this coming year. Learn more HERE.
Safe Communities
HB 188: Mariam’s Law – Sex Offender Punishment Increase
Steven is a leader in combating the threats sexual offenders pose to Georgians, especially the most vulnerable among us. Steven led a comprehensive enhancement to the way dangerous sexual predators are treated after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled hundreds of sex offenders would be taken off GPS monitors. Thanks to Representative Sainz, Mariam’s Law passed and requires enhanced penalties for sex offenders, including lifetime GPS and alcohol monitoring. For more information, click HERE.
_______
Secure the Southern Border:
Steven has been a leader in making sure Georgia policy reflects the dangers illegal immigration poses to our communities. This is why he sponsored and got HR 1019 passed – Protecting America’s Borders. Steven is fighting to get President Trump back in the Whitehouse, because our communities can’t risk another 4 years of the reckless Biden border fiasco.
________
SB 319 & HB 218: Constitutional Carry
Steven knows are communities are safest when our law-abiding citizens are allowed to arm and protect themselves and those around them. This is why he led on getting the Georgia Civil Carry Act and co-sponsored its companion bill for license reciprocity. For more information, click HERE.
________
SB 332 – Prosecuting Oversight Council: This bill will make sure our District Attorneys are prosecuting dangerous crimes and preventing them from weaponizing their offices against political rivals. There has been no clearer example of the need for an oversight committee than the reckless behavior of Fulton DA Fani Willis. Through the work of Representative Sainz and his Republican colleagues, Georgians can now hold rouge District Attorneys accountable.
Family Prosperity - Our Economy & Biden's Inflation
Georgia families are struggling under Biden’s failed economic policies. As your advocate in the Georgia General Assembly, I have fought to reduce your tax burden. State income tax is at a historical low, we have increased the child income tax credit, and we implemented the longest gas tax suspension in state history to combat the rising cost of fuel.
Student Success - Securing Schools & Advancing Education
Nothing is more important to me than student safety. I was proud to serve in our school system as a Deputy sheriff teaching our middle school students the CHAMPS character building and drug prevention program while ensuring a safe school climate. This passion has continued throughout my legislative service. Each year we have given local schools resources to enhance campus security, In the FY 24 budget we have made a major investment in each school system that may be used both for technology and security personnel.
I was proud to be the lead sponsor of HR 1019, empowering Governor Brian Kemp to provide state resources to the Texas-lead border security initiative. Where Biden fails, we will act. As your state representative, I will never pass the buck on issues that affect the security and livelihood of families in our district.
